MAYES visit prompts security audit

March 2, 2009

The impending state visit from MAYES, expected to commence Friday, has Forsaken House Department of Public Safety officials re-checking the state of security in the territory, according to a FHN investigation.

Officials early Monday conducted surprise inspections of the Den and Hallway areas after a weekend fraught with violent incidents, including four separate assaults within a span of minutes Sunday. In those incidents, two Palubats were grazed by caps and a Jarf was corked nine times while leaving Bathroom after a long night of drinking. No suspects have been arrested in the assaults.

DPS officials refused to comment on the scope or duration of their inspections.

Increased rhetoric from the separatist Jraf colony has DPS investigators worried, including specific threats to the safety of MAYES. According to an anonymous source within the department, electronic communications surveillance on Sunday revealed a plot to sabotage the visit with acts of violence.

In one dialogue via the popular GChat online communication tool, a Jraf was quoted as saying:

We could make a stink at this MAYES function… We could stage a real attack… Caps will be fired

When asked if such threats would result in raids in the near future, DPS officials declined to comment.

MAYES is officially recognized by the Government of Forsaken House as a “friend of the state”. There have not been incidents or rhetoric in the past that negatively reflected on the former Queens resident. It has been speculated by security analysts that leaders within the Jraf sect regard MAYES as suitable collateral damage in their efforts to undermine the stability of the house. Jraf leaders have made plain their plans to ultimately eradicate the Palubat population.
